What will you learn?

This class will focus on painting in a loose and relaxed fashion with watercolors. The process of creating a painting you are proud of is to be enjoyed. We will practice skills to help you gain confidence as an artist and as a watercolor painter. Topics to include light, shadow, color, value, mixing color, thumbnail sketching, and value studies. Various watercolor techniques will be explored with the goal being that we grow closer to developing our own unique style of painting in watercolor..

Trey Peaden

Instructor

With over 30 years of experience in the commercial art and screen printing industry, Trey has established himself as a skilled illustrator for advertising, graphic designer and certified art educator. Beyond his extensive background in printing, he has worked in various industries, including haunted attractions and whiskey production. Throughout his career, Trey has collaborated with a wide range of clients, from Minor League Baseball and Collegiate teams to major corporations and government agencies. He has also partnered with diverse print industry manufacturers and has created sets and special effects for haunted attractions, demonstrating his versatility in the art field. Trey's talent and expertise extend beyond the commercial realm into fine art. He has completed commissioned paintings for high-end clientele and his pieces are owned by a former Intel executive. Trey's artistic abilities encompass various mediums, including airbrush, pen & ink, acrylic, watercolor and oil painting, digital sculpture, traditional sculpture (including molding and casting), digital illustration, and photography. He's also furthered his education through the study of the Henshe Method of Painting. His accomplishments are recognized through his memberships in the American Impressionist Society, Portrait Society of America, Mobile Arts Council and Oil Painters of America.
