Outreach Director Lindsey Lawrence visited Fairhope Rotary Youth Club last week! Sixty-six students in two days! Lawrence instructed Pre K through 2nd graders in a Bomb Pop watercolor lesson, while the 3rd through 6th graders did an acrylic version. While students created, they also learned about artist entrepreneurship. Lawrence talked about what artists think about when they are pricing their artwork, supply costs, time, and profit. We hosted the African Universal Church summer camp group yesterday! 25 students of all ages enjoyed a guided tour of our galleries and studio spaces. Big thanks to Kayla Dean for leading the tour! She has been hard at work changing out items within our Gift Shop and implementing a new Membership platform, among the other many instrumental duties of a nonprofit team member. Thank you, Kayla! 💕

Last night, our Community Outreach Director Lindsey Lawrence conducted a presentation on framing and wiring for the Eastern Shore Camera Club! They learned the do's and don'ts of displaying and hanging their work. Lindsey enjoyed bringing professional development to these working artists and we look forward to hosting their exhibit again at ESAC this September/October. We had an epic time yesterday at the @fairhopelibrary! This year's Summer Reading Kickoff theme was "Unearthing a Story." Fairhope West Elementary #ProjectJubilee just held their "Night at the Museum" event yesterday! Projects that the students have been working on all year as part of their curriculum were on display for parents, students, and the public to view. The pyramids and Egyptian pieces that were made here at ESAC during their Fall field trip were exhibited. We also caught a glimpse of their collaborative graffiti piece made during a bonus workshop here in January. We love seeing the hard work and creativity on display! Project Jubilee is the Gifted Student program for grades 3rd - 6th. Congratulations, everyone!

The Eastern Shore Art Center (ESAC) has received a $14,000 Creative Places Arts Facilities grant from @alabama_arts that will enhance our ADA compliance and update studio lighting. This grant will join a gift from the Hearin/Chandler Foundation and a match from the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation to finalize the improvements for this project.
