Beginning Watercolors (DAYTIME)

How often have you heard “watercolor is an unforgiving medium”? Let me tell you this: it’s not! Are you ready to get closer to
watercolors?
In this class, Mayssam Iskandar will guide you through the watercolor experience. This is also a great refresher for intermediate artists to revisit the essential principles of the medium. We will cover color theory, water control, layering, and more!
We will also discuss everything you need to dive in, including:
Supplies: Understanding types of paper (hot vs. cold pressed)
Materials: The difference between watercolor tubes and pans.
Brushes: Choosing the right tools for your style.
Techniques: How to use salt, plastic wrap, and rubbing alcohol to build unique textures

Beginning Watercolors (NIGHTTIME)
Instructor Trey Peaden, Wednesdays 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
This class will focus on painting in a loose and relaxed fashion with watercolors. The process of creating a painting you are proud of is to be enjoyed. We will practice skills to help you gain confidence as an artist and as a watercolor painter. Topics to include light, shadow, color, value, mixing color, thumbnail sketching, and value studies. Various watercolor techniques will be explored with the goal being that we grow closer to developing our own unique style of painting in watercolor.
