These classes are for beginning painters wishing to explore acrylics. We will practice basic painting techniques and do a variety of exercises to introduce you to ways in which acrylic paint may be used creatively. Topics to include brush and palette knife usage, paint consistency, color mixing, light and shadow, value, composition, and color theory.
BEGINNING ACRYLICS (DAYTIME) WITH MAYSSAM ISKANDAR

Have you ever been told that “acrylic is a difficult medium because it dries so quickly”? While it can be a challenge, it doesn’t have to be. In this workshop, Mayssam Iskandar will guide you through the process of making this medium approachable and share essential
tips for mastering acrylic paint. She will demonstrate various blending techniques and show you how to achieve smooth, crisp edges in your work. We will also cover everything you need to dive into this medium, including:
Washes: Mastering thick washes, thin washes with water, and using other mediums.
Surface Preparation: How to prepare surfaces like canvas or wood with the right primers.
Supplies: How to make the right choices for your surface and which brushes and paints to use.

BEGINNING ACRYLICS (NIGHTTIME) WITH MYKAELA ARMSTRONG
Mondays, 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Interested in acrylic painting? This class is a great place to start! Over the course of this class, we will go over the basics step by step, no experience needed. We will cover topics such as color theory, value, layering, composition, etc., and you will receive guided lessons along with time to practice and receive individual instruction. By the end of class, you will have several paintings as well as the confidence to continue painting on your own!
