About the Wood Fires...

Experience the thrill and beauty of Wood fired ceramics. Join Maria and other wood fire enthusiasts in this communal firing. Participants must participate in the firing. If you are unable to participate, you may register as a "Drop Off" ($200 per shelf). Prior to the firing, Maria Spies will reach out with details and participant time slots.

Refund Policy

  • A $25 fee will be charged for all class refunds due to a withdrawal. Refunds will be given up to seven (7) days prior to class start date. Thereafter, no refunds will be given, unless the ESAC cancels the class.
  • A $75 fee will be charged for all workshop refunds due to a withdrawal. Refunds will be given up to one (1) month prior to the workshop start date. Thereafter, norefunds will be given, unless the ESAC cancels the workshop.

Instructor

Maria Spies ESAC Director of Pinewood Studios Award-winning ceramic artist and nationally recognized instructor Maria Spies is beloved by ESAC students and collectors. An independent studio potter since 1973, Spies has been an instructor at ESAC since 2008, and has taught and managed ceramics programs in Dallas, Texas; Seattle, Washington; and Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. Her work is represented in many galleries throughout the country, as well as in private collections and corporate offices.
