In this intensive weekend course students will:
– gain a deep understanding of the geologic story ofΒ clay
–Β inhabit the lives of the original potters of mobile bay
– identify and harvestΒ clayΒ in the field
– process, formulate, and testΒ clayΒ bodies, slips, terra sigillata, and pigments to meet the aesthetic and practical goals of oneβs practice
– bring home a usableΒ wildclayΒ clayΒ body ready to use.
