Perspective is a vexing concept for many artists, and without a solid understanding realism is impossible. In this workshop we will take a deep dive into linear and atmospheric perspective, focusing on practical solutions to perspective problems. We will –
*learn to identify 1-point, 2-point, and 3-point perspective, and find the horizon line and vanishing points from life or imagination
*utilize effective perspective techniques in still life, landscape, and figural work
*discuss color strategies for Plein Air / landscape artists and the science of optics
*practice quick sketching in perspective from reference
*complete a piece using linear and atmospheric perspective

Drawing – pad or sketchbook, graphite pencils, eraser, ruler/straight edge (I’ll have some to borrow)
