Join us for a community celebration of painting in the great outdoors! 60 painters will be taking it to the streets – and the bay front pier!! Registration will open in August for interested participants.

NOVEMBER 3-8, 2025

This 6TH ANNUAL “paint out” will exemplify the artistic vibe of Fairhope. From sunrise to sunset, artists will set up throughout the city with portable easels, chairs, and umbrellas along downtown streets, at Mosher’s castle, Fairhoper’s Community Park, the Pier, and more!

*** What can you expect in Plein Air Fairhope 2024? ***

You can participate in Plein Air Fairhope as an artist, student, patron, or audience member. 

Nov 3-7, 2025: Plein Air Fairhope Paint Out! 60 participating artists will paint the town from sunrise to sunset! They’ll be downtown, by the pier, local farmlands, and more… Painter Registration is FULL (which includes official apron/exhibit opportunity). We encourage local painters to still get out there and paint!

Nov4-7, 2024: Plein Air Fairhope Wet Room. As painters finish artworks, they will be showcasing them at ESAC on tables while they dry and before they are framed for the official exhibit. Get a special sneak peek or purchase one for your own collection before the rush!

Nov 7, 2025 @ 6-8 pm: Plein Air Fairhope Exhibit/First Friday Art Walk. Official opening of artwork created during the week! Free to the public. PAF Artists/Sponsors may enjoy a VIP early bird entrance at 5:30pm.

TBA: Gallery Talk. Join PAF Judge for a Gallery Talk about their plein air painting experiences and what to look for as a show judge.

TBA: Plein Air Fairhope Quick Draw. PAF artists and the public are invited to paint in a specific location. Limited to 2 hours and prizes awarded! All ages welcomed! Just bring your painting supplies and join us. Donations welcomed.

Proceeds to benefit the Eastern Shore Art Center’s community outreach efforts.
