ESAC names Pelham Pearce as Executive Director
Pelham βPatβ Pearce has been named Executive Director of the Eastern Shore Art Center. His experience has been βon the stageβ as opposed to βin the studioβ, with over 40 years in the operatic arts. Pat received his Bachelor of Music from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Music, Vocal Performance from the University of Mississippi. He also served as a National Opera Institute Apprentice for the Opera Company of Philadelphia.
From 1996 to 2022, as the Artistic Director of Central City Opera, the fifth oldest opera company in the US, Pat was part of an amazing team. He produced and managed a summer repertory season consisting of three operas. Each season, Pat and his team would train an average of 31 young artists and 15 production interns, reaching approximately 120,000 adults and students with their community engagement programs. Prior to his tenure with Central City, Pat was the General Director of Mobile Opera Inc.
The ESAC family welcomes Pat and he is thrilled to be on the Eastern Shore. βFairhope is a special gem in the crown of the Eastern Shoreβ¦ A unique, beautiful, and artistic gem,β says Pat. ESAC staff is eager to work with Pat on expanding ESAC programming to reach more of the Bay Area, including Daphne, Spanish Fort, and Gulf Shores.
