After Art Camps, comes Summer Classes! They begin

After Art Camps, comes Summer Classes! They begin the week of July 21st and are 6 week sessions. If a class has not met the minimum number of students (4), registration will close on July 14.

SPOTLIGHT:
DYNAMIC PAINTING with Christopher R Murray paintings
Thursdays, 3:30-5pm
$100 ($80 for ESAC Members)

From Color theory to composition, Chris will teach teen artists how to enhance their creativity and skills on canvas. Students must be ages 10 and Up.

We are proud to announce that the Eastern Shore Ar

We are proud to announce that the Eastern Shore Art Center has received a $50,000 Creative Places Arts Facilities grant from Alabama State Council on the Arts enhancing our ADA compliance and plans to expand the gift shop.

We are partnering with the Baldwin County Trailblazers Inc. for Chalk the Trail, coming May 17th at Utopia Park! 🌞🌞🌞

ESAC Community Outreach Director Lindsey Lawrence has put together some tips and tricks for the big day >>>

Pro Tips:
- Protect your knees and your skin
- Don’t forget your sunscreen and blankets or padding for your knees. Even a piece of cardboard can make a good barrier between your knees and the sidewalk and won’t smear your art.
- Plan ahead: Have something in mind or do some practice sketches before the event!
- Wet your chalk to make the colors more vibrant!
- Use your hands to blend colors, or bring some paper towels to blend.
- Build up color by layering and shading.

Once again, ESAC was approached this year by Daphn

Once again, ESAC was approached this year by Daphne High School Trojans instructor Kat Robinson to partner on the Butterfly Project, promoting social justice and resilience.

DHS History students learned about the Holocaust and created approximately 700 total ceramic butterflies in remembrance of the children who perished. These butterflies were then fired in our ESAC kiln with the guidance of Studio Director Maria Spies Pottery (pictured above).

In conjunction with the art project, the DHS History Department worked together with their Theatre program, featuring the butterflies in a rendition of "I Never Saw Another Butterfly".
