That’s Our Guy!

From heavy lifting to gallery tours, ESAC staff and volunteers will tell you “Charley is our guy!” Charley Siebert began volunteering with ESAC in October, 2021, stating “As an art major, I wanted to work with the arts. I figured volunteering with ESAC would be beneficial.” After a few months of volunteering, he was hired as a customer service rep for ESAC in January, 2022. “After working in the fast paced restaurant industry that cared very little for my college life, I felt like the staff and atmosphere at ESAC would be a smart choice. And I was right!” says Charley.

Charley Siebert

Charley has proven himself to be invaluable to ESAC. He has assisted with exhibits, academy, Art Bash, First Fridays, and Art of the Fungi. Stop by the galleries on Saturdays and you will find Charley’s grinning face at the Front Desk. His favorite aspect of ESAC is working with the staff and the community. He says he likes the “calmness of the environment” and enjoys meeting students and artists. Charley is a ceramic artist with specific interests in hand building and glazing. He hopes to
continue working with the arts.

When Charley isn’t at ESAC, you can find him on campus as “Sharkey”, the Coastal Community College mascot. He is also involved with the “Students Basic Needs Coalition”, the Gaming Club, and the Jazz and Show Choir. Charley is also serving as the President of the SGA at Coastal.

Special Thanks

Margaret Neely graciously handles all of the scheduling for the daily front desk volunteers. ESAC is grateful for Margaret and all of the delightful front desk volunteers who are the first point of contact for most ESAC visitors. Margaret is pictured on the right with Bob Mazur, a new front desk volunteer. Front desk volunteer Claude Gatlin continues to work towards improving the outdoor lighting at ESAC and is also working with the Baldwin County Master Gardeners to develop an updated landscape plan for the front entrance at ESAC. Thanks Claude!
