“Art is not done to decorate apartments, it is an instrument of war for attack and defense against the enemy.”

Pablo Picasso

If the pen is mightier than the sword, and a picture is worth a thousand words; then I will use my brush in this battle we call life! As Picasso said art is an instrument of war, and there are many forms of war, from actual military conflict to the war that wages within one’s self. I draw inspiration from prominent artist of today such as Richard Schmid, David Leffel, and Daniel Gherhartz among others. I say that I’m a self taught artist, but truly these men taught me through the books they have written and many hours of studying their work.

While having experimented with various mediums, I currently work with charcoal on paper and oil on canvas. Although I believe all art is abstract, at least in the making, I give my sincerest attempt at a more traditional look in my work, which consists of mostly portraits and figure paintings alongside the occasional still life. I can only hope that my artwork will bring as much
joy to others as it has to me
