Jack grew up in the 1950’s of Birmingham, Alabama, graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in mathematics, and began his career in technology which over the years transplanted him to Huntsville, Alabama; Miami, Florida; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and Alexandria, Virginia. In retirement since 2007, Jack and his wife Kriss moved to Culpeper, Virginia where he focused on fine art photography,  and became an active member of the Windmore Art Center, and taught GED at the Literacy Council.
Looking for warmer weather and Utopian dreams,  Jack and his wife Kriss came to Fairhope in October 2013 where they have given back to a community that gives so much. Jack is a board member of the Friends of the Fairhope Library, and along with his wife Kriss work for the Fairhope Film Festival as programmers helping to select the films each year. However, the majority of Jack’s time is spent on his passion for fine art photography where he is an active member of the Eastern Shore Art Center and Eastern Shore Camera Club.
Jack has been juried into many of ESAC’s shows where he was recently awarded Best of Show in March 2018’s Member’s Juried Show and Best of Show in October 2019’s Eastern Shore Camera Club Exhibit. In February – March 2017, Jack was chosen to exhibit a solo show in ESAC’s Woolley gallery. His work also hangs in the Fairhope Artists’ Gallery on Section Street
