This “paint out” will exemplify the artistic vibe of Fairhope in our 3rd annual 6 day event. With idyllic locales and scenic splendor, our city offers abundant inspiration for both area and travelling artists. From sunrise to sunset, artists will set up throughout the city with portable easels, chairs, and umbrellas along downtown streets, at Mosher’s castle, Fairhoper’s Community Park, the Pier, and more! Wet Room: Throughout the event, artists will be dropping off finished works (framed and unframed) for sale! Wet Room pieces will be on view and available for purchase through 3 pm on Friday, Nov 5. Exhibit: Each artist will select 2 of their most prized pieces created during the event and exhibit them in our Woolley Gallery. The exhibit will be judged by Craig Reynolds and will be up through December 30th. Suggested Zones: Check out the map in our event brochure with specified “Zones” that offer picturesque views and lively scenes. Artists are not required to stay within these zones and may paint where they so choose. See a painter, take a pic and tag us with #PleinAirFairhope!

This year’s exhibit will be judged by artist and instructor Craig Reynolds. Craig will be judging works based on: Composition, Value Harmony, Color Harmony, Capturing the essence of the scene, freshness, representational impressionism, expressionism and abstract qualities. BIO: “The evolution of my art career began early on. My dad was an artist and obviously was a huge influence on me as well as masters NC Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth, Howard Pile and Sargent. I became a full time professional artist in 2005, began competing in national pleinair competitions in 2009. As well as competing in 10-12 pleinair events each year, my wife and I also travel to painting vacations when we can. We love painting on the coast of Maine and the Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland. I have always been intrigued by great old barns, farm scenes, landscapes and the old barnacle laden working boats, harbors and the history told by well worn scars and patina, earned by time and hard work. I strive for my paintings to tell a story without not even one written word. www.craigreynoldsstudio.com
