RECAP: 2019 OUTDOOR ART SHOW

Another Successful Outdoor Art Show!

Hard to believe OAS is actually over… It always goes by so fast!!

From all of the ESAC staff, we want to say a big THANK YOU to the artists of the 47th Annual Outdoor Art Show. ESAC and the artists acknowledge the dedicated patrons who continue to support the arts and the artists, the local businesses of Downtown Fairhope that greet festival goers and visitors with gracious hospitality, and as always, our amazing volunteers who make spectacular events like OAS possible.

We are forever appreciative of your continued support.

This year we offered the opportunity for individuals and businesses to sponsor the artist awards totaling $10,000. The First Place Photography Award of $500 was sponsored in honor and memory of photographer Mary Van Antwerp by her family. The judges selected C.W. Banfield as the award winner, and the Van Antwerp daughters could not wait to see who the judges had selected. They sent us the kindest note, saying their mother would have ADORED his work.

They met him at his booth and had a nice long chat with him as he explained his process and techniques, and told us that some of his work reminded them of their mother’s own nature photography. Torrey Van Antwerp said “We girls are all excited that we were able to support his work and recognize Mama this way. Please sign us up again next year!”

Encaustics with Julie Snidle
Live & Large Acrylic Painting with Jessa Pippin

We even had a Meet & Greet with the Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre Cast of “Matilda” AND a live performance from Fairhope High School’s latest production “Fiddler on the Roof”!

Drawings & Door Prizes!

We gave away artwork, gift items, Art Center Memberships, tickets to the Gulf Coast Exploreum’s latest exhibit, and more! All guests had to do was sign our guest book to draw and win!

Our hot ticket item was a gorgeous piece by Jean-Marie McDonnell, that she donated to ESAC to support our mission. Late Sunday afternoon, Theresa’s ticket was drawn! Our festival volunteer Cheryl who was decked out for St. Patrick’s Day even helped deliver it for her!
